What does Honor Do?

 

So what, exactly, does HONOR do? Here is a list of our activities; keep in mind that all of our actions are accomplished with our five principles in mind.

  • Speaks out on issues affecting American Indians and Indigenous People
  • Equips and trains others for advocacy and action
  • Monitors and reports on the anti-Indian movement
  • Facilitates return of reservation homelands to tribes
  • Publishes the HONOR Digest for members 6 times a year
  • Produces resources including several books
  • Conducts Workshops
  • Disseminates background papers on critical issues
  • Sends timely "Action Alerts" to network members
  • Coordinates Conferences
  • Prompts investigation of racial incidents
  • Issues "Calls to Action" to institutions for policy changes
  • Follows legislation impacting Indian Country
  • Operates the LEAD (Leadership Empowerment, Activist Development Project)
